I completed my initial qualification as a Registered General Nurse in Ireland in 1986. The following year I moved to Australia, working in Sydney and Melbourne before settling in Perth.
I completed my Midwifery studies at St John of God, Subiaco in 1992. Many new mothers required ongoing guidance to breastfeed their child. I could see there was a high demand for breastfeeding support for mothers returning home after giving birth. Being a mother of twin girls who were born prematurely, I can relate on a personal level to the concerns and needs of new mothers.
I qualified as a International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 1997 and set up the Breastfeeding support service (outpatient clinic) at St John of God Hospital. For 20 years I have had the pleasure of supporting families in their quest to breastfeed successfully. I am now available as a private Lactation Consultant.
I am a member of the College of Lactation Consultants WA. and LCANZ.
